This Privacy Policy Statement is provided to you pursuant to the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Chapter 486 of the Laws of Hong Kong) (the “PDPO”) in connection with your dealings with, and provision of your personal data or information (“Personal Data”) to, Korea Investment & Securities Asia Ltd. ("KISA") and its affiliates (the “Affiliates”) (“KISA” and “Affiliates” are collectively called “KISA Group”) from time to time.

KISA may collect Personal Data from you and from time to time, it is necessary for you to supply KISA with Personal Data in connection with services provided to you and all the matters associated with the services. Failure to provide Personal Data may result in KISA being unable to provide or continue to provide the services to you.

Personal Data will be processed, disclosed or transferred to the Affiliates (within or outside Hong Kong) and other third parties for any of the purpose(s) set out below in accordance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Personal Data may be transferred to the following third parties who may use Personal Data for any of the purpose(s) specified herein:-

1. Any of the Affiliates;
2. Any agent, contractor or third-party service provider who provides administrative, telecommunications, computer, and payment or other services to KISA in connection with KISA’s business operation; and
3. Any actual or potential assignee, or participant or sub-participant or transferee, of KISA’s rights and/or obligations under the contractual relationship between you and KISA.

The purposes for which Personal Data may be collected, processed and transferred for any or all of the following purposes:-

1. To administer KISA’s website (the “Website”)
2. To maintain daily operation of your account and provide the services to you;
3. To promote and administer the services and/or provide financial products to you;
4. To conduct market research and statistical analysis;
5. To use in direct marketing (see below for details);
6. To carry out prize draws, games and competitions, and deliver rewards;
7. To organize and deliver seminars and other events hosted by the KISA Group; or
8. Other purpose(s) relating to any of the above.

By using the Website, you are deemed to have consented that KISA Group may, from time to time, use Personal Data, including your name, contact details (such as your addresses, phone numbers and email addresses) and digital footprints (such as cookies) for direct marketing to you by the following parties:-

1. Third-party financial institutions, underwriters, securities and investment service providers;
2. Third-party rewards, or co-brands or special offers plan providers;
3. Brand partners of KISA Group (the names of the brand partners will be set out on the application form of those services and products); and
4. Charitable or non-profit organizations.

Different retention periods apply to the various types of Personal Data collected and held by KISA Group. KISA Group will take all reasonably practicable steps to ensure that Personal Data will not be kept longer than is necessary for the fulfilment of the purposes (or any directly related purpose) for which Personal Data is or is to be used, unless the retention is otherwise permitted or required by applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Under the PDPO, you may, in writing, request to access to Personal Data belonging to you, correction of Personal Data or for information regarding policies and practices. Any such written request should be sent to the address situated at Suite 3716-19, Jardine House, 1 Connaught Place, Central, Hong Kong. When handling a Personal Data access or correction request, KISA has the right to check the identity of the requestor to ensure that he/she is entitled to make such request. Under the provisions of the PDPO, KISA has the right to charge a reasonable fee for processing your access request to Personal Data.

When visits are made to the Website, “cookies” may be installed automatically and retained temporarily in your memory or on your hard disk. Cookies will record information about your use of the Website. You are hereby deemed to acknowledge that you have been informed of this practice and authorize KISA to use any information collected through such use of cookies in connection with the purposes set out herein. KISA undertakes to make its best efforts to protect the quality and integrity of Personal Data held by it. KISA will take all practicable steps to ensure that Personal Data held by it are protected against unauthorized or accidental access, processing, erasure or other unauthorized use, provided that KISA cannot ensure the security and confidentiality of Personal Data which is transmitted through internet or other electronic means. Transmission of all Personal Data via the internet or other electronic means is made at your own risk.

The Website may contain hyperlinks to other websites that are out of KISA’s control and KISA shall not have any liability for the privacy practices or the contents of such other websites.
